All the horses were under the hood, as bus drivers tested their skills and knowledge in Saturdays 27th annual Metroadeo. Driving skills were tested in a 40-foot standard coach on an 11-station course that included tight turns, slalom, backing up and stopping.

For the third time in the last six years, East Base driver Michael Grady was the overall winner, edging defending champ Don Brady by just 10 points. South Base driver Tammy Klein finished third. Grady and Brady finished with the same driving score, but Grady took the title with a higher score in the other elements of the competition. Grady will represent King County at the state competition in Spokane later this year and at the international competition in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mel Nason from North Base won the driving-only Maverick Division, Michael Sattler from North Base had the best first-time score, and Ed Seymore from Atlantic Base won the Most Improved title. The team of Ryan Stringfellow, Larry Fitzpatrick and Leonard Emry won the Maintenance Team competition.
