The 2003 Vehicle Maintenance Employee of the Year Gary Archer

Gary was hired as a mechanic in Vehicle Maintenance in December 1979 and was promoted to his present position as a lead mechanic in September 1982. During more than 23 years with King County, he has received seven commendations for his outstanding work, has twice been nominated for Employee of the Shakeup, and has always received annual evaluations of excellent or better.
"Gary has dedicated his career to providing safe, dependable vehicles for our King County Transit riders and operators," said Metro General Manager Rick Walsh. "One of the highest honors of recognition for an extraordinary work career is to be acknowledged by your peers. It is outstanding people like Gary Archer who create outstanding organizations like Metro."
