The 1986 Operator of the Year is Eldo A. Kanikkeberg
Eldo began his career with Seattle Transit on January 12, 1953. During his 33 years of service, he has twice been selected as Operator of the Month, in September 1979 and August 1985. He has received a 30-year safe driving award and 22 commendations. The common thread that runs through all of Eldo's commendations is his cheerful, outgoing nature and a "willingness to go out of his way to make someone else very happy." Eldo is currently operating one of the Waterfront Streetcars and has distinguished himself as a singer/songwriter with his homespun ballads about "Old 99."
