Late Spring, walking
this shadow splattered tunnel of trees
green trills along the ditches: musk mallow   cat's ear
lacy pinks of filaree    lush, sweet air
the nearly oppressive weight of flowering
and the longing in it     to do and to be-
white flower from the heart of chickweed
perfection serration of nettle leaf
profusion of the humble, recurring weeds
