to my always jazz city,
roaming beneath monorail's roar,
prowling a bookstore,
warmed by caffeine fuel
in blue winter light.

A native of Washington, D.C., Bob Birnbaum has lived in the Seattle area since 1988. He works for Boeing as a computer analyst, and resides in Bellevue with his wife and son.
