DISCLOSURE
I am not a poet the same way I am not a photographer -
I own a camera, take a class, but don't know the best ways
to let in light, expose. I am a cat-owner, a daughter, a loon of moods,
a mute queen cornering words in a region thick with silence.
Who can say why I am compelled, those days, to document
how a man stands with his dogs and waits on a corner to cross.
The dogs, three and black, are spaced behind him in a row,
the small one close to his ankle.
