Husky Football Transportation Service 2009
Under Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations regarding charter bus service, Metro will partner with the University of Washington and other service providers to operate Park & Ride shuttles to and from Husky home football games this season. The partnership includes free gameday trips on regular Metro service to and from the stadium area for riders who show their game ticket.
Starting with 10/10/09 game, Metro will be providing service from the Shoreline P&R and from the Northgate Transit Center
Eliminate driving and parking hassles on trips to and from Husky Stadium. Your ride is FREE on any Metro bus when you show your Husky game ticket or ticket stub to the bus driver. Pre-game Park & Ride Shuttle Service
Metro provides non-stop shuttle service for all Husky games from seven area park and ride lots. See the Park & Ride Locations map. Park FREE and ride Metro buses directly to Husky Stadium. Please note the following:
- Park and ride shuttle service is FREE when you show your Husky game ticket.
- If you do not have your Husky game ticket, please pay the regular fare for the ride.
- Buses begin boarding two hours prior to kickoff, and leave every 20 minutes or when they are full.
- P&R shuttles operate non-stop to Husky Stadium.

Traffic congestion can cause delays. If you miss one of the P&R Shuttles, you may wish to ride regular service from the P&R either to or near Husky Stadium, or to connect with service from downtown Seattle to Husky Stadium.

Post-game Park & Ride Service
After the game, Husky P&R shuttle buses are parked in designated locations within 1-2 blocks of Husky Stadium.
- See the Post Game Boarding Locations map.
- UW Staff holding color-coded signs with the park & ride names will help you find your bus, which has a matching color-coded sign located in the front and front side windows.
- Buses leave as soon as they are full.
- P&R shuttles operate non-stop from Husky Stadium.
- Post-game P&R Shuttles only operate immediately after the game. They do not have schedules and do not wait once full. Customers who want to return to a P&R on a post-game Shuttle are encouraged to proceed directly to the boarding location for that P&R. Fans who miss the last P&R Shuttle can plan their return trip using regularly scheduled service.

Other Special Service
In addition to regularly scheduled service, Metro operates supplemental service to Husky games on special service routes from:
- Husky Specials may be signed as "Special" or "To Husky Stadium."
- Traveling to or from games, your ride on any of Metro's Husky Special service is FREE when you show your Husky game ticket or ticket stub to the bus driver.
- If you do not have a game ticket or stub, please pay an appropriate regular fare on this Special service with exact change or a valid pass or transfer.
- Except where otherwise noted, these (non-P&R) Husky Specials pick up passengers at posted stops along their routes until they are full.
Husky Special service routes supplement regularly scheduled service in the areas through which they travel. You will get to the game faster if you do not wait for one particular bus, which may be full or delayed, but rather be aware of, and ready to use, all the options from your starting location. Traffic delays are common on game days.

Downtown & Capitol Hill Special Service to & from Husky Stadium
Pre-Game
Metro provides three special service routes from downtown Seattle to Husky Stadium for all Husky home games. These buses are signed 'Special' or 'To Husky Stadium' and follow portions of other Metro Routes so that fans have several options and more frequent service.
- Husky Special via Metro Route 43 & Route 48 - See Map A.
- Husky Special via Metro Route 11 & Route 48 - See Map B.
- Capitol Hill buses stop upon request at regularly posted bus stops along their routes until they are full.
- Due to traffic and other factors, it is not possible to predict the time when specific buses will reach Capitol Hill bus stops.
- On Capitol Hill, board either a Husky Special, or any Route 43 or Route 48 headed for Husky Stadium.
- A third Special travels via Eastlake Ave E. See Map C. The Eastlake bus is non-stop after leaving Howell St & Yale Ave.
- From points farther north along Eastlake Ave E, board any northbound bus to the University District and transfer to any Metro Route 43, Route 44, Route 48 or 'Husky Special' at a posted stop southbound on 15th Ave NE between NE 45th St & NE Pacific St.
Ferry Riders
- Proceed to one of the following bus stops to board Husky Specials:
- Northbound - on 1st Ave at Marion, Seneca or University Streets.
- Eastbound - on Pike St at 6th Avenue.
- See additional important information for All Riders below.
- Combined service operates from 1st Ave or Pike St about every 10-20 minutes, starting one hour and 40 minutes before kickoff.
- The last bus to Husky Stadium leaves 1st & Marion about 45 minutes before kickoff.
- See below for post-game service to the Ferry Terminal
All Riders
- Downtown Husky Special service starts one hour and 40 minutes before kickoff.
- Some trips leave northbound from 1st Ave at Marion St and some start from eastbound on Pike St at 6th Ave.
- The combined frequency is about every 10-20 minutes.
- The last Husky Special leaves northbound from 1st Ave at Marion St about 45 minutes before kickoff, and from Pike St at 6th Ave about 35 minutes before kickoff. After that time board Route 43 eastbound on Pike St.
- During the last half hour of the Downtown Special service, there are fewer Specials from 1st and Marion, and there may be schedule delays.
To make the best use of all available service, and to be sure of getting to the game on time, ride any regular Metro bus northbound from 1st & Marion to Pike St. Eastbound on Pike St at 6th Ave, board any of the Husky Specials or any regularly scheduled Metro Route 43.
Post-Game
After the game, buses returning "To Downtown Seattle" leave southbound on Montlake Blvd just south of NE Pacific Street
- Buses leave as soon as they are full.
- If necessary, check with the driver for routing. Some of the Specials may be non-stop; trips that travel via Capitol Hill make posted stops upon request along their routes.
- All Husky Special Route 43s through downtown will go to the Ferry Terminal; regular Route 43s will not serve the Ferry Terminal. Ask the supervisor at Husky Stadium for directions.
- All "Downtown" buses will serve 1st Avenue & Marion Street for ferry riders.
- Please show your game ticket stub to ride Metro for free.

Ballard Special Service to and from Husky Stadium
Metro provides a special service route from Ballard to Husky Stadium for all Husky home games. See Map D.
Pre-Game
- Look for buses signed to "Husky Stadium" or "UW Stadium" or "Montlake."
- Husky service from Ballard starts one hour and forty minutes before kick-off, travels via regular Route 44 routing and makes all posted stops upon request. Board either a Special or any Route 44.
- Combined special and regular service operates about every 10-15 minutes.
- The last Husky Special leaves Ballard 55 minutes before kickoff. After that time ride any Route 44.
- Regular Route 44 service operates according to its normal schedule, but may be delayed due to game-day traffic congestion. Additionally, regular Route 44 trips may be rerouted near Husky Stadium before or after games.
Post-Game
- Buses leave westbound on NE Pacific St between Montlake Blvd and Pacific Pl. Board any bus signed "To Ballard."
- Buses leave when they are full.
- Please show your Husky game ticket stub to ride free on Metro.

Lake City & Sand Point Special Service to and from Husky Stadium
Metro provides two pre-game and at least two post-game trips on two special service routes from Lake City to Husky Stadium for all Husky home games. See Map E.
Pre-Game
- Board either a Special or any Metro Route 65 or Route 75.
- Two Special trips on each of routes 65 and 75 leave from eastbound on NE 125th St, just east of Lake City Way, 65 minutes before kickoff. Before or after that time, ride any Route 65 or 75 along their regular routes to get close to Husky stadium.
- Lake City Husky Special service travels via regular Route 65 or Route 75 routing and makes all posted stops upon request.
- Regular Route 65 and Route 75 service operates according to normal schedules, but may be delayed due to game-day traffic congestion. Additionally, regular Route 75 trips may be rerouted near Husky Stadium before or after games.
Post-Game
- At least two buses for each of Route 65 and Route 75, signed "To Lake City," leaves northbound on Montlake Blvd in front of Hec Edmundson Pavilion.
- Each bus leaves when it is full.
- Please show your Husky game ticket stub to ride free on Metro.

- Traveling to or from Husky games, your ride on any Metro bus - and Sound Transit Express Route 545 - is FREE when you show your Husky game ticket or ticket stub to the bus driver.

- On all other Sound Transit Express bus service, please pay the appropriate ST fare.
