Metro Schedule and Route Revisions, September 2008

Below is a numerical listing of affected routes throughout Metro's service area. Revisions will take effect on Saturday, Sept. 20. Pick up a new orange timetable for complete route and schedule information.

From 9 am to 3 pm weekdays, service frequency on routes 3 and 4 will increase to every 6-8 minutes between downtown Seattle and 21st Ave E & E Jefferson St. From 9 am to 3 pm and 6:30 pm to 10 pm weekdays, service will increase to every 15 minutes between downtown Seattle and Boston St on Queen Anne Hill. These improvements are funded through a Transit Now service partnership of Metro and the City of Seattle.

Route 10 service frequency will increase to every 12 minutes during the morning peak period (6 am to 9 am) and to every 7-8 minutes during the afternoon peak period (3 pm to 6 pm). Service frequency on Route 12 will increase to every 7-8 minutes. These improvements are funded through a Transit Now service partnership of Metro and the City of Seattle.

From 9 am to 10 am and 2 pm to 3 pm, service frequency on Route 11 will increase to every 15 minutes. These improvements are funded through a Transit Now service partnership of Metro and the City of Seattle.

Route 13 will begin its evening trips at a new downtown Seattle terminal eastbound on S Main St just east of 3rd Ave S.

Service frequency on Route 14 will increase to every 15 minutes from Mt. Baker to downtown Seattle during the morning peak period, and from downtown Seattle to Mt. Baker during the afternoon peak period. These improvements are funded through a Transit Now service partnership of Metro and the City of Seattle.

The Route 16 trip to downtown Seattle leaving Northgate Transit Center at 11:46 pm on weekdays will be deleted.

The last Route 17 trip to downtown Seattle leaving Loyal Heights at 12:28 am on weekdays will be deleted.

The last Route 23 trip to White Center leaving downtown Seattle at 1 am on weekdays will be deleted.

The last Route 24 trip to West Magnolia leaving downtown Seattle at 1 am on weekdays will be deleted.

Transit Now logo
From 7 pm to 10 pm daily and from 10 am to 10 pm Sundays, the combined service frequency on routes 26 and 28 between downtown Seattle and Fremont will increase to every 15 minutes. Route 28 night shuttle operation will now begin after 10 pm. During morning and afternoon peak periods, the combined service frequency will improve to every 10-12 minutes. These improvements are funded through a Transit Now service partnership of Metro and the City of Seattle.

The Route 27 trip to downtown Seattle leaving Colman Park at 6:50 pm on weekdays will be deleted.

Service frequency on Route 41 between Northgate and downtown Seattle will increase to every 5-8 minutes from 8:15 am to 9:15 am.

From 9 pm to midnight weeknights, 10 pm to midnight Saturdays and 6 pm to midnight Sundays, service frequency on Route 44 will increase to every 15 minutes. These improvements are funded through a Transit Now service partnership of Metro and the City of Seattle.

New trips on Route 46 will provide hourly midday service connecting Fremont, Ballard and Shilshole.

Route 79 trips leaving Lake City at 6:14 am and Stewart St & 9th Ave at 6:10 pm will be deleted.

110 Southbound Route 110 trips to the Tukwila Sounder Station will operate southbound on Lind Ave SW and westbound on SW 16th St. Trips that do not serve the Tukwila Station will continue to operate via SW 7th St and Oakesdale Ave SW.

Two Route 143 trips to downtown Seattle that now leave from the Renton Transit Center at 7:05 am and 7:33 am will leave from Black Diamond at 6:14 am and 6:49 am. The current Route 143 trips leaving Black Diamond at 5:56 am and 6:24 am will leave at 5:54 am and 6:30 am instead. A new Route 143 trip to Black Diamond will leave from downtown Seattle at 5:31 pm. Metro has improved service on Route 143 with funding from Transit Now.

Route 153 will operate every 30 minutes from 9 am to 3 pm, and during the peak periods. This improvement is funded through a Transit Now service partnership of Metro and the cities of Kent and Renton.

New 157

Transit Now logo
New Route 157 will operate a weekday peak-period service between Lake Meridian P&R and downtown Seattle via Kent East Hill and Glencarin. Route 157 will replace Route 161 service in the Glencarin neighborhood between 116th Ave SE & SE 240th St and 108th Ave SE & SE 208th St. New Route 157 is a Transit Now-funded service.

158/159

Routes 158 to Kent and 159 to Timberlane will no longer serve the downtown Seattle bus stops westbound on Bell St just west of 4th Ave and southbound on 2nd Ave just south of Bell St. Routes 158 and 159 may now be boarded southbound on 7th Ave just south of Blanchard St, westbound on Lenora St just east of 4th Ave, and southbound on 2nd Ave just south of Lenora St.

161

161 Route 161 will operate between the Lake Meridian P&R and 116th Ave SE & SE 240th St via Kent Kangley Rd, 124th Ave SE, SE 256th St and 116th Ave SE. Route 161 will no longer serve the Glencarin neighborhood between 116th Ave SE & SE 240th St and 108th Ave SE & SE 208th St. New Route 157 will replace this part of Route 161.

Route 164 will operate hourly service on Saturdays from about 7 am to 10 pm. Metro has improved service on Route 164 with funding from Transit Now.

Route 205 to Mercer Island will now operate via northbound 15th Ave NE between NE Pacific St and NE 45th St in the U-District and will serve bus stops on 15th Ave NE just north of NE Pacific St, NE 40th St, NE 41st St and NE 42nd St. Route 205 will no longer serve the bus stops northbound on University Way NE, north of NE Pacific St, westbound on NE Campus Pkwy just west of University Way NE and eastbound on NE 45th St just west of University Way NE.

Route 209 will have new morning and afternoon peak-period trips to provide hourly service in both directions on weekdays between Issaquah and North Bend. Metro has improved service on Route 209 with funding from Transit Now.

New 211 (942)

New Route 211 will replace Route 942. Westbound Route 211 morning trips from Eastgate to downtown Seattle/First Hill will serve all stops previously served by Route 942, but the new route will operate via the I-90 express lanes, serving the Rainier Freeway Station, to 4th Ave S & S Jackson St. Route 211 will not operate on Rainier Ave S between I-90 and S Jackson St. After leaving 4th Ave S & S Jackson St, Route 211 operates via express to First Hill, serving the same stops as former Route 942. Eastbound Route 211 afternoon trips to the Eastgate P&R will now serve the bus stop eastbound on Seneca St just west of 9th Ave and all stops previously served by Route 942 between 9th Ave & Spring St and 5th Ave S & S Jackson St. It will also serve the Rainier Freeway Station, Mercer Island P&R, and the Eastgate P&R. The Route 211 schedule will be adjusted to enable transfers to and from the first five Sounder trains arriving at King Street Station in the morning and the first southbound trains leaving in the afternoon.

214 Route 214 will no longer operate between downtown Issaquah and North Bend. New Route 215 and improved service on Route 209 will provide replacement service.

New 215

New Route 215 will operate half-hourly peak-period service between North Bend and downtown Seattle via Snoqualmie and Issaquah. Route 215 replaces Route 214 with faster and more-direct service east of Issaquah. It will als serve Snoqualmie Ridge, the Issaquah Transit Center and the Eastgate and Rainier Ave freeway stations. New Route 215 is a Transit Now-funded service.

Route 216 will serve the Eastgate Freeway Station.

At the new Totem Lake Transit Center, westbound Route 230 to Kingsgate P&R will serve Bay 1. Eastbound Route 230 to Bellevue and Redmond will serve Bay 2. Eastbound Route 230 trips between the Bellevue Transit Center and Redmond Transit Center will operate 30-minute service for an additional half hour in the early evening Monday through Saturday. Metro has improved service on Route 230 with funding from Transit Now.

236

236 At the new Totem Lake Transit Center, northbound Route 236 to Woodinville will serve Bay 1. Southbound Route 236 to Kirkland will serve Bay 2.

238

238 At the new Totem Lake Transit Center, northbound Route 238 to Bothell will serve Bay 1. Southbound Route 238 to Kirkland will serve Bay 2.

New 244

Transit Now logo
New Route 244 will replace former temporary Route 644. It will operate five southbound trips to the Overlake Transit Center in the morning and five northbound trips to Kenmore in the afternoon. Route 244 will retain Route 644 routing between Kenmore and 100th Ave NE & NE 132nd St in Juanita. Routing between Juanita and Overlake will be revised to serve NE 124th St, the Kingsgate P&R, Willows Road NE and limited stops on 148th Ave NE. Route 244 is funded through a Transit Now service partnership of Metro, the City of Redmond and Microsoft.

245 Southbound Route 245 trips to Factoria will leave from Bay 4 at the Kirkland Transit Center instead of Bay 3.

Eastbound Route 253 trips between the Bellevue Transit Center and Redmond Transit Center will operate 30-minute service for an additional half hour in the early evening Monday through Saturday. Metro has improved service on Route 253 with funding from Transit Now.

255 Seven southbound Route 255 trips operating between the Brickyard P&R and the Kirkland Transit Center will be deleted. Four northbound Route 255 trips operating between the Kirkland Transit Center and the Brickyard P&R will also be deleted. There is no reduction in the number of trips between Kirkland and downtown Seattle.

Transit Now logo
Service frequency on Route 269 will increase to every 20 minutes with the addition of three northbound trips to Overlake during the morning peak period and four southbound trips to the Issaquah Transit Center in the afternoon. Three northbound Route 269 trips to Overlake will also be added during the afternoon peak period. These improvements are funded through a Transit Now service partnership of Metro, Microsoft and the cities of Issaquah, Sammamish and Redmond.

272 Route 272 to Eastgate will operate via northbound 15th Ave NE, NE Campus Parkway and University Way NE between NE Pacific St and NE 45th St in the U-District. Route 272 will serve bus stops northbound on University Way NE just north of NE Pacific St and northbound on 15th Ave NE just north of NE 41st St and NE 42nd St. Route 272 will no longer serve the terminal northbound on Memorial Way on the U of W campus.

291 At the new Totem Lake Transit Center, northbound Route 291 to Kingsgate P&R will serve Bay 1. Southbound Route 291 to Redmond Town Center will serve Bay 2.

301 The last southbound Route 301 trip to downtown Seattle leaving the Aurora Village Transit Center at 6:37 pm will be deleted.

303

Route 303 will serve the bus stops northbound and southbound on Meridian Ave N at N 180th St.

306 Route 306 will have minor schedule adjustments.

Route 312 will have minor schedule adjustments.

373

373 Route 373 will operate via 5th Ave NE instead of I-5 between NE 145th St and NE 175th St. Route 373 trips to the U-District will serve bus stops southbound on 5th Ave NE at NE 174th St, NE 163rd St, NE 155th St and eastbound on NE 145th St at 6th Ave NE. Route 373 trips to Aurora Village will serve bus stops northbound on 5th Ave NE at NE 145th St, NE 155th St, NE 165th St and NE 174th St.

644

Route 644 will be replaced by new Route 244.

915

Transit Now logo
Route 915 will operate every 90 minutes on Saturday from about 10 am to 6 pm between Auburn and Enumclaw. Metro has improved service on Route 915 with funding from Transit Now.

922

Route 922 will be discontinued. Replacement service between Redmond and Carnation will be provided by additional trips on Route 929.

929

Transit Now logo
Route 929 will no longer operate between Fall City and North Bend. Instead, it will have more-frequent service between Fall City and Redmond, with seven trips in each direction weekdays. These trips will be timed to connect with Route 209 in Fall City for service to North Bend or Issaquah. Metro has improved service on Route 929 with funding from Transit Now.

935

935 At the new Totem Lake Transit Center, northbound Route 935 to Northshore will serve Bay 1. Southbound Route 935 to Totem Lake will serve Bay 2.
