Metro Schedule and Route Revisions, September 2007

Below is a numerical listing of affected routes throughout Metro's service area. Revisions will go into effect on Saturday, Sept. 22. Pick up a new red timetable for complete route and schedule information.

Southbound Route 2 Express now operates on 3rd Ave instead of 2nd Ave.

Southbound Route 5 now operates on 3rd Ave between Wall St and Columbia St and no longer operates on 5th Ave, Union St or 1st Ave. Northbound Route 5 no longer stops northbound on 1st Ave at University St but uses a new stop eastbound on Seneca St at 2nd Ave and a stop northbound on 3rd Ave at Union St. Route 5 afternoon peak trips leaving from 2nd Ave S & S King St operate via 1st Ave S and S Main St, then north on 3rd Ave.

Route 11 trips to downtown Seattle now operate southbound on 3rd Ave instead of 2nd Ave. Route 11 no longer serves the stop westbound on Pine St at 4th Ave but stops at the transit island on Pine St just east of 3rd Ave.

The terminal for Route 13 has been moved to southbound 3rd Ave W just south of W Cremona St, next to Seattle Pacific University.

Route 15 Express has one new trip in the morning leaving southbound from 15th Ave NW & NW 90th St and one new trip in the evening leaving northbound from 3rd Ave S & S Jackson St.

Route 16 now operates southbound on 3rd Ave and no longer operates on 5th Ave or on Madison St east of 3rd Ave.

Route 17 now operates northbound on 3rd Ave and no longer operates on 4th Ave. Beginning in early December, inbound Route 17 will no longer operate on 9th Ave N from Republican St to Denny Way but instead will operate eastbound on Republican St and southbound on Westlake Ave N. Inbound Route 17 Express will no longer stop on 2nd Av at Broad St but instead will stop eastbound on Denny Way just west of Warren Place. Inbound only, Route 17 will operate on Market St after leaving its terminal on 32nd Ave NW and will no longer operate on 32nd Ave NW south of Market St or on NW 54th St.

21E

Inbound Route 21 Express trips to downtown Seattle no longer stop on 1st Ave at University St, but instead serve a new stop eastbound on Seneca St just east of 2nd Ave and the stop northbound on 3rd Ave north of Pike St.

Route 23 now operates southbound on 3rd Ave instead of 2nd Ave.

Route 25 has two new northbound trips during the morning peak period and one new northbound and two new southbound trips in the evening.

Route 32 Express to Rainier Beach now stops southbound on 15th Ave S just south of S Nevada St and no longer stops southbound on S Columbian Way at S Snoqualmie St.

Route 35 to Harbor Island now operates southbound on 3rd Ave instead of on 2nd Ave, serving stops at Pine, Union, Marion and James streets.

41

Route 41 now operates in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel via Bay A when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 3rd Ave when the tunnel is closed. Route 41 to Lake City operates on Olive Way when the tunnel is closed stopping just west of 4th Ave, 6th Ave and Terry Ave. It no longer stops on Virginia St at 6th Ave or on 9th Ave at Howell St.

54/55

Routes 54 and 55 to West Seattle now operate southbound on 3rd Ave between Wall St and Columbia St and no longer operate on 5th Ave, Union St and 1st Ave. Outbound routes 54 and 55 also serve a new stop westbound on Columbia St east of 2nd Ave. Routes 54 and 55 to downtown Seattle serve a new stop on Seneca St east of 2nd Ave and will no longer stop on 1st Ave at University St.

56E

Route 56 Express to downtown Seattle no longer operates on 1st Ave but instead operates on Seneca St serving the new stop east of 2nd Ave and northbound on 3rd Ave stopping just north of Pike St. Route 56 Express heading to Alki continues to serve stops southbound along 1st Ave

66

Route 66 now operates on 3rd Ave and no longer serves 5th Ave or Madison St east of 3rd Ave.

Route 71 Express now operates via Bay A in the downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 3rd Ave when the tunnel is closed.

72E

Route 72 Express now operates via Bay A in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 3rd Ave when the tunnel is closed. Where possible, the schedules for routes 72 and 372 alternate every 15 to 30 minutes between Lake City and the U-District.

73E

Route 73 Express now operates via Bay A in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 3rd Ave when the tunnel is closed. In the reverse-peak direction and during the midday, the combination of routes 71, 72 and 73 now provide 7 1/2 -minute service from NE 65th St & 15th Ave NE to downtown Seattle. Schedules for routes 73 and 373 have been adjusted to provide 15-minute frequency between Jackson Park and the U-District.

On weekend evenings, Route 74 now makes additional trips between the Seattle Center, Fremont and the U-District until 10:30 pm.

74E

Route 74 Express now operates via Bay A in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 3rd Ave when the tunnel is closed. Route 74 Express now serves stops on University Way NE and no longer operates on 11th Ave NE or Roosevelt Way NE. Route 74 Express trips increase from 11 to 17 a day.

From 6:30 pm to midnight, Route 75 now operates every 30 minutes in both directions between the U-District and Northgate. On Saturday, Route 75 operates every half hour from 6 to 8:30 am and on Sunday, every half hour from 6:30 am to 8 pm. Also, a new trip leaves NE Campus Pkwy & University Way NE at 7:31 am.

An improved schedule for afternoon trips on the Route 76 provides better spacing between trips for customers traveling between the downtown Seattle and the U-District.

An improved schedule for the Route 79 provides better spacing between trips for customers traveling between the U-District and downtown Seattle. A pair of stops for Route 79 has been added at 11th Ave NE & NE 42nd St and at Roosevelt Way NE & NE 42nd St.

On trips to downtown Seattle, Route 82 Night Owl now operates on 3rd Ave and no longer serve 5th Ave south of Denny Way

101 Route 101 now operates via Bay C in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 3rd Ave when the tunnel is closed. Route 101 no longer serves bus stops on Virginia St or 9th Ave.

Route 106 now operates via Bay C in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 3rd Ave when the tunnel is closed. Route 101 no longer serves bus stops on Virginia St or 9th Ave.

110 Route 110 returns to former routing on Park Ave N between N 6th St and N 8th St and on N 8th St between Park Ave N and Garden Ave N. Designated Route 110 trips have been adjusted to connect with Sound Transit's Sounder train at Tukwila Station..

113

113 Route 113 now operates southbound on 3 rd Ave north of Columbia St and no longer serves bus stops on 2nd Ave. Route 113 enters the Alaskan Way Viaduct via Columbia St, serving a new bus stop just east of 2nd Ave.

116, 118, 119

Routes 116, 118 and 119 now operate southbound on 3rd Ave and no longer serve bus stops on 2nd Ave. The routes serve a new bus stop westbound on S Washington St west of 3rd Ave S.

120

120 Route 120 now operates southbound on 3rd Ave north of Columbia St and no longer serves bus stops on 2nd Ave. Route 120 enters the Alaskan Way Viaduct via Columbia St, serving a new bus stop just east of 2nd Ave. Route 120 to downtown Seattle serves the new bus stop eastbound on Seneca St east of 2nd Ave, then northbound on 3rd Ave at Union St. Route 120 no longer stops northbound on 1st Ave at University St.

121 Route 121 now operates southbound on 3rd Ave north of Columbia St and no longer serves bus stops on 2nd Ave. Route 121 enters the Alaskan Way Viaduct via Columbia St, serving a new bus stop just east 2nd Ave.

122 Route 122 now operates southbound on 3rd Ave north of Columbia St and no longer serves bus stops on 2nd Ave. Route 122 enters the Alaskan Way Viaduct via Columbia St, serving a new bus stop just east 2nd Ave.

123

Route 123 now operates southbound on 3rd Ave and no longer serves bus stops on 2nd Ave. Route 123 Express also serves the bus stop on 3rd Ave S at S Main St.

125 Route 125 now operates southbound on 3rd Ave north of Columbia St and no longer serves bus stops on 2nd Ave. Route 125 also serves the island bus stop on Pine St at 3rd Ave and no longer serves the curbside stop on Pine St west of 4th Ave. Route 125 serves a new bus stop on Columbia St just east of 2nd Ave.

150 Route 150 now operates via Bay C in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 3rd Ave when the tunnel is closed. Route 150 to Kent no longer serves the bus stop on 9th Ave at Howell St.

174 Route 174 now operates via Bay C in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 2nd Ave when the tunnel is closed. South of downtown, Route 174 no longer serves bus stops on 4th Ave S between S Royal Brougham Way and S Lander St but instead operates via the SODO Busway.

177

Route 177 to Federal Way continues to operate via Stewart St and 2nd Ave. It no longer stops on 9th Ave. Northbound morning trips continue to operate through downtown Seattle via 4th Ave.

190

190 Route 190 to Redondo no longer stops northbound on 9th Ave just north of Howell St. The first outbound stop for Route 190 is westbound on Stewart St just east of 9th Ave.

194

194 Route 194 now operates via Bay C in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on Stewart St and 2nd Ave when the tunnel is closed.

200

The first two morning trips on Route 200 leave from Front St just south of E Sunset Way and serve the Issaquah Community Center.

212, 225, 229

Routes 212, 225 and 229 now operate via Bay D in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on Stewart St and 2nd Ave when the tunnel is closed. The last trip on Route 212 also operates on 2nd Ave since it leaves after 7 pm when the tunnel is closed. Route 212 reverse commute trips and Route 217 now share a common route path in the Factoria area on SE 36 St providing customers with a combined six trips in each direction during each peak period.

217 Morning trips on Route 217 now operate via Bay D in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 2nd Ave when the tunnel is closed. Route 217 trips to downtown Seattle in the afternoon peak period continue to serve bus stops on 4th Ave. Route 217 morning trips now end at the new terminal southbound on 220th Ave SE just north of SE 56th St.

New Sunday service on Route 234 operates hourly from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm.

240, 247, 342

Routes 240, 247 and 342 return to operation on Park Ave N and N Park Drive.

247

Route 247 now serves Bay 2 at the Overlake/NE 40th St Transit Center. It no longer stops at Bay 1.

255, 256

Routes 255 and 256 now operate via Bay B in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 4th Ave when the tunnel is closed. Traveling to downtown Seattle when the tunnel is closed, they continue to stop on 5th Ave.

Route 269 has expanded weekday peak-period service and some new midday service with three new northbound and four new southbound trips.

272 Two midday trips on Route 272 have been discontinued. They are the trips that have been scheduled to leave the UW campus at 11:33 am and 12:36 pm.

301 Route 301 now operates via Bay A in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel when the tunnel is open (5 am-7 pm weekdays) and on 3rd Ave when the tunnel is closed.

316 Route 316 has two revised trips leaving 1st Ave & Blanchard St at 5:04 and 5:57 pm.

355

355 Trip times on Route 355 have been adjusted to improve service for customers traveling between the U-District and downtown Seattle.

358

358 Route 358 now operates southbound on 3rd Ave and no longer serves bus stops on 5th Ave. Inbound Route 358 serves a new bus stop westbound on S Washington St west of 3rd Ave S.

3722

372 Route 372 has four new trips in the morning when the University of Washington is in session.

373

373 Route 373 has two new trips in the morning and three new trips in the afternoon.

630

630 The last day of operation for the Route 630 Shuttle will be Friday, Nov. 16.

918

Route 918 has two new trips leaving Kent Station in the morning and leaving 64th Ave S & W James St in the afternoon. The trips connect with the Sound Transit Sounder train at Kent Station. The last two morning trips leaving Kent Station and the last trip leaving 64th Ave S & W James St also have been adjusted to connect with the Sounder train.
