Metro Transit Special Rider Alert, June 2006

Below is a numerical listing of route changes that will take effect on Saturday, June 3. Pick up a new blue timetable for complete route and schedule information.

Route

Service Revision

26*

Route 26 will travel on Aurora Ave. N., Bridge Way N., and N. 40th St. There will be no Route 26 service on Dexter Ave. N. north of Crockett St., the Fremont Bridge, Fremont Ave. N., N. 35th St. and Wallingford Ave. N. Route 26 will follow its regular route east of N. 40th St. & Wallingford Ave. N. and south of Dexter Ave. N. & Crockett St. Route 26 Express will not change.

28*

Route 28 will travel on Aurora Ave. N., Fremont Way N., and N. 39th St. and N.W. 39th St. There will be no Route 28 service on Dexter Ave. N. north of Crockett St., the Fremont Bridge, Fremont Ave. N., Fremont Place N., and N. 36th St. and N.W. 36th St. Route 28 will follow its regular route west of Leary Way N.W. & N.W. 39th St. and south of Dexter Ave. N. & Crockett St. Route 28 Express will not change.

Night/ Sunday Shuttle*

Service to Broadview will meet Route 26 on the south side of Bridge Way N. at Albion Pl. N. Riders traveling toward downtown Seattle will exit Route 28 on Fremont Way N. just north of N. 38th St. and walk one block south to the on-ramp of southbound Aurora Ave. N. to connect to Route 26 to downtown Seattle.

Route 31 will no longer travel along Nickerson St., the Fremont Bridge, and Fremont Ave. N. but will travel instead on the Ballard Bridge, Leary Way N.W., N. 36th St., N.W. 36th St. and Fremont Pl. N.

74*

Route 74 will no longer travel along Westlake Ave. N., the Fremont Bridge, N. 35th St., and Stone Way N. south of Bridge Way N., but will instead travel on Aurora Ave. N. and Bridge Way N. Route 74 Express will not change.

99

Route 99 will no longer operate southbound on Alaskan Way south of Yesler Way. The bus stop on Alaskan Way at Columbia St. will be closed with a new one opening on Yesler Way at Post Ave. Route 99 will operate east on Yesler Way and south via 2nd Ave. Ext. S. and 2nd Ave. S. to S. Jackson St. East of 2nd Ave. S., the routing will be unchanged. The bus stop eastbound on S. Jackson St. at Occidental will be moved to just east of 2nd Ave. S. These changes affect southbound/eastbound service only. Northbound/westbound service will not change.

121, 131

Routes 121 and 131 will no longer enter Judson Park retirement home property; they will instead serve nearby stops on Marine View Dr. S. in both directions.

128

Although the long-term road construction affecting Route 128 service has ended, Route 128 will not return to its regular route along 8th Ave. S.W. and S.W. 108th St. until June 3. It will no longer travel on S.W. 102nd St. or 4th Ave. S.W. north of S.W. 108th St.

166

Route 166 will return to its former routing in both directions along Pacific Highway S. between Kent-Des Moines Rd. S. and S. 216th St. This route will no longer travel along 24th Ave. S .

214

Route 214 will have six fewer trips because of reduced parking at the Issaquah P&R, and trip times will be adjusted. The number of trips serving North Bend will not change.

218

Route 218 will have four more trips in each direction serving Issaquah Highlands P&R, and trip times will be adjusted.

230

Times have been coordinated with Route 253 to provide consistent 15-minute service along N.E. 8th St. between Crossroads and Bellevue Transit Center on weekdays.

247

Route 247 will no longer travel around the perimeter of the Kent-Boeing Space Center, but the route will instead travel directly through the facility.

255

All Route 255 trips will begin and end at Brickyard P&R; no trips will start or end in downtown Kirkland.

345, 346, 347, 348

Weekdays and Saturday, routes are staying the same. But if you're used to staying on the bus after it finishes one route and starts another, these continuations, or through routes, will be changing from Northgate Transit Center. See timetables for more information.

ST 522 Express

One more afternoon trip will be added from downtown Seattle to the Woodinville P&R, leaving 3rd Ave. and Union St. at 5:48 p.m.

ST 545 Express

Westbound trips from Bear Creek P&R will operate every 10 minutes from 6:24 a.m. - 8:24 a.m. weekdays. Another westbound trip has been added leaving the Bear Creek P&R at 8:49 a.m.

ST 550 Express

Minor adjustments have been made on the westbound weekday schedule from 2:35 p.m. - 6:50 p.m. for better connections at the Bellevue Transit Center.

ST 554 Express

Service will be provided to the Issaquah Highlands P&R on weekends as well as weekdays. On Sunday, there will be more trips so buses will run every 30 minutes from about 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

ST 564 Express

Route 564 will be extended to the South Hill Transit Center in Pierce County, with stops at the Sumner Rail Station and the South Hill P&R. Route 564 will operate weekdays every 60 minutes during midday. Buses will run every 30 minutes northbound during morning peak hours and southbound during afternoon peak hours.

ST 565 Express

Midday and evening trip frequency is reduced to hourly service on weekdays, alternating with Route 564 between Auburn and Overlake.

644

New weekday peak-direction service between the Kenmore P&R and the Overlake Transit Center via Finn Hill, Kingsgate, I-405 and SR-520. Will operate southbound in the morning and northbound in the afternoon.

914, 916

DART Routes 914 and 916 will directly serve the Kent Station commercial area on W. Temperance St. and will no longer travel through the K-mart parking lot. Board buses at the Shopper Shuttle stop at the Safeway store east of Washington Ave. S. or westbound on W. Meeker St. just west of Washington Ave. N..
