Metro Schedule and Route Revisions, May 2009

Below is a numerical listing of affected routes throughout Metro's service area. Pick up a new blue timetable for complete route and schedule information.

Service Revisions Effective Saturday, May 30

5, 358

Northbound Route 5 to Greenwood/Shoreline CC and Route 358 to Aurora Village will operate from 3rd Ave to Aurora Ave N via Battery St. Routes 5 and 358 will no longer operate on Blanchard St, 7th Ave or Dexter Ave N. Routes 5 and 358 will serve a new bus stop northbound on Aurora Ave N just south of Denny Way.

21E

Northbound Route 21 express to downtown Seattle will continue to operate northbound on 3rd Ave but will turn left on Lenora St to 2nd Ave instead of on Stewart St.

41

Beginning Saturday, May 30, the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be open from 5 am to 1 am on weekdays and Saturday, and from 6 am to midnight on Sunday. Route 41 will operate in the tunnel during these times EXCEPT for the last outbound trip weekdays and Saturday, and the last two outbound trips on Sunday. When the tunnel is closed, Route 41 to Lake City will continue to operate northbound on 3rd Ave serving stops at James, Madison, Union and Pine streets, and on Olive Way at 4th, 6th and 8th avenues.

64, 306, 308, 312

Beginning Monday, June 1, routes 64, 306, 308 and 312 will be rerouted in downtown Seattle for about one year due to the Sound Transit University Link construction project. Route 64 to Lake City will operate via 4th Ave, Olive Way and Convention Place Station to the I-5 express lanes. Route 306 to Kenmore, Route 308 to Horizon View and Route 312 to Kenmore/Bothell will operate via 3rd Ave, Pike St, 8th Ave, Olive Way and Convention Place Station to the I-5 express lanes. There are no stops affected by this revision.

66, 67

On Saturday, May 30, the Northgate P&R will be permanently closed. Northbound routes 66 and 67 to Northgate will make their final stop at Bay 2 at the Northgate Transit Center and will no longer operate on 5th Ave NE north of NE 100th St.

Beginning Saturday, May 30, the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be open from 5 am to 1 am weekdays and Saturday, and from 6 am to midnight on Sunday. Route 71 will operate in the tunnel during these times EXCEPT for the last outbound trip on weekdays and Saturday and the final three trips on Sunday. When the tunnel is closed, Route 71 to Wedgwood will continue to operate northbound on 3rd Ave serving stops at James, Madison, Union and Pine streets, and on Virginia St at 6th and 9th avenues.

Beginning Saturday, May 30, the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be open from 5 am to 1 am weekdays and Saturday, and from 6 am to midnight on Sunday. Route 72 will operate in the tunnel during these times EXCEPT for the last trip on weekdays and Saturday, and the last two trips on Sunday. When the tunnel is closed, Route 72 to Lake City will continue to operate northbound on 3rd Ave serving stops at James, Madison, Union and Pine streets, and on Virginia St at 6th and 9th avenues.

Route 73 will operate in the tunnel during these times. When the tunnel is closed, Route 73 to Jackson Park will operate northbound on 3rd Ave serving stops at James, Madison, Union and Pine streets, and on Virginia St at 6th and 9th avenues.

Beginning Monday, June 1, the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be open from 5 am to 1 am weekdays and Saturday, and from 6 am to midnight on Sunday. Route 74 will operate in the tunnel during these times. If there is an emergency closure of the tunnel, Route 74 to Sand Point will operate northbound on 3rd Ave serving stops at James, Madison, Union and Pine streets, and on Olive Way at 4th, 6th and 8th avenues.

Beginning Saturday, May 30, the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be open from 5 am to 1 am weekdays and Saturday, and from 6 am to midnight on Sunday. Route 101 will operate in the tunnel during these times. If there is an emergency closure of the tunnel, Route 101 to Renton/Fairwood will operate on Stewart St serving stops at 7th and 5th avenues, and southbound on 3rd Ave, stopping at Pike, Seneca, Columbia and S Main streets.

Beginning Saturday, May 30, the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be open from 5 am to 1 am weekdays and Saturday, and from 6 am to midnight on Sunday. Route 106 will operate in the tunnel during these times EXCEPT for the last outbound trip on weekdays, Saturday and Sunday. When the tunnel is closed, Route 106 to Renton will operate on Stewart St serving stops at 7th and 5th avenues, and southbound on 3rd Ave, stopping at Pike, Seneca, Columbia and S Main streets.

Route 150 will operate in the tunnel during these times EXCEPT for the last outbound trip weekdays and Saturday, and the last two trips on Sunday. When the tunnel is closed, Route 150 to Kent will operate on Stewart St serving stops at 7th and 5th avenues and southbound on 3rd Ave, stopping at Pike, Seneca, Columbia and S Main streets.

Beginning Saturday, May 30, the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be open from 5 am to 1 am weekdays and Saturday, and from 6 am to midnight on Sunday. Route 174 will operate in the tunnel during these times EXCEPT for the last three outbound trips on weekdays and Saturday, and the last five trips on Sunday. When the tunnel is closed, Route 174 to Federal Way will operate on Stewart St serving the stop at 4th Ave and on 2nd Ave at Pike St, Seneca St, Marion St & James St and on the 2nd Ave Ext S, stopping at S Jackson streets.

At the new Burien Transit Center, southbound Route 180 to Kent/SE Auburn will serve Bay 6. Northbound Route 180 to Burien will drop off passengers at Bay 4. See the inset map of the Burien Transit Center for more information.

Beginning Saturday, May 30, the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be open from 5 am to 1 am weekdays and Saturday and from 6 am to midnight on Sunday. Route 194 will operate in the tunnel during these times EXCEPT for the last trip on weekdays, Saturday and Sunday. When the tunnel is closed, Route 194 to the Federal Way/S 320th St P&R will operate on Pine St serving the stop at 9th Ave, on Stewart St serving the stops at 7th and 4th avenues, on 2nd Ave at Pike St, Seneca St, Marion St and James St, and on the 2nd Ave Ext S, stopping at S Jackson streets.

Transit Now logo
Route 210 will serve the Lakemont neighborhood via Lakemont Blvd SE and 164th Ave SE. Route 210 will no longer operate on SE Newport Way between Lakemont Blvd SE and 164th Ave SE.

Westbound Route 211 trips to downtown Seattle will be adjusted in both directions to provide adequate transfer time to/from revised Sounder service at King Street Station.

Beginning Saturday, May 30, the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be open from 5 am to 1 am weekdays and Saturday, and from 6 am to midnight on Sunday. Route 212 will operate in the tunnel on weekdays only. When the tunnel is closed, Route 212 to the Eastgate P&R will operate on Stewart St serving the stops at 7th and 4th avenues, on 2nd Ave at Stewart, University, Spring and Cherry streets, on S Washington St at 4th Ave S, and on 5th Ave S at S Jackson St.

216, 269, 927, ST 554

The existing bus stop inside the South Sammamish P&R will be divided into two bus stops with new bay designations. Bay 1, at the west end of the bus loop, will be served by Route 216 to Bear Creek P&R, Route 269 to the Issaquah Transit Center and Overlake P&R, and ST Route 554 to downtown Seattle. Bay 2, at the east end of the bus loop, will be served by the Microsoft Connector. Also, the bus stop southbound on 228th Ave SE just south of Issaquah Pine Lake Rd SE will be designated Bay 3 and will be served by Route 216 to downtown Seattle and Route 927 to Providence Point.

222, 230, 232, 233, 234, 237, 249, 253, ST 564, ST 565, 921

At the Bellevue Transit Center, Route 232 to Overlake/Redmond/Duvall, Route 233 to Overlake/Bear Creek, Route 249 to Overlake and ST routes 564 and 565 to Overlake Transit Center will leave from Bay 11 instead of Bay 10. Routes 222 and 921 will also drop off passengers at Bay 11. Route 230 to Kirkland and Route 234 to Kirkland/Kenmore will leave from Bay 10 instead of Bay 11. Routes 237 and 253 will also drop off passengers at Bay 11.

238, 245, 265, 277, 986

Two of the existing bus stops at the Houghton P&R will have new bay designations. Bay 1, located northbound on 116th Ave NE on the west side of the park-and-ride, will be served by Route 238 to Bothell, Route 265 to Redmond and Route 277 to Juanita. Route 986 will serve Bay 1 in both directions. Bay 2, located inside the park-and-ride on the westbound roadway, will be served by routes 238 and 245 to Kirkland, Route 265 to Seattle and Route 277 to the U-District.

Beginning Saturday, May 30, the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be open from 5 am to 1 am weekdays and Saturday, and from 6 am to midnight on Sunday. Route 255 will operate in the tunnel during these times. When the tunnel is closed, the last Route 255 trip to downtown Seattle will operate on Stewart St serving stops at Yale, 9th and 7th avenues and on 5th Ave at Pine, Pike, Seneca, Spring, Marion, Cherry, Jefferson and S Jackson streets.

At the Aurora Village Transit Center, Route 301 to downtown Seattle will serve Bay 1 instead of Bay 5.

303

At the Aurora Village Transit Center, Route 303 to First Hill will serve Bay 2 instead of Bay 8. Route 303 to the Shoreline P&R will continue to serve Bay 12.

331/342

At the Aurora Village Transit Center, Routes 331 to the Kenmore P&R and Route 342 to Renton will serve Bay 4 instead of Bay 6. Route 331 to Shoreline CC and Route 342 to the Shoreline P&R will continue to serve Bay 12.

346

At the Aurora Village Transit Center, Route 346 to Northgate will serve Bay 2 instead of Bay 8.

358

At the Aurora Village Transit Center, Route 358 to downtown Seattle will serve Bay 10 instead of bays 10 and 11.

373

At the Aurora Village Transit Center, Route 373 to the U-District will serve Bay 3 instead of Bay 9.

915

The southbound Route 915 trip to Enumclaw leaving Auburn Station at 4:54 am will be deleted.

918

Two new Route 918 trips will provide connections with a new northbound Sounder train arriving at Kent Station at 6:34 am and a new southbound train arriving at 3:34 pm. Please check the new blue timetable for other schedule adjustments.
