Metro Schedule and Route Revisions, February 2008

Below is a numerical listing of affected routes throughout Metro's service area. Revisions take effect on Saturday, Feb. 9. Pick up a new blue timetable for complete route and schedule information.

3, 4

On weekends only, all Route 3 and Route 4 trips operating night and Sunday service to North Queen Anne, serve a new terminal northbound on Queen Anne Ave N just north of W McGraw St.

Bus trips have been added to Route 8 during the afternoon peak period, providing service every 15 minutes from 3:30-7:30 pm on weekdays. This demonstration project ends in February 2010, but it may be extended depending on business community support.

Route 16 to Northgate now operates southbound on Dexter Ave N, to Republican St & Aurora Ave N. Route 16 also no longer serves the northbound bus stop on Dexter Ave N just south of Roy St.

Route 33 to downtown Seattle has three new trips leaving from a new terminal at Elliott Ave W & W Lee St. These trips continue as Route 37 to West Seattle.

When the downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel is closed, Route 41 to Northgate and Lake City no longer stops at Olive Way & Terry Ave. Instead, it makes its last stop in downtown Seattle eastbound on Olive Way just west of 8th Ave.

Route 45 to Queen Anne no longer stops at the southbound bus stop on Bridge Way N just east of Whitman Ave N. Route 45 now serves the stop on the southbound on-ramp to Aurora Ave just south of N 38th St.

Trips have been added on Route 70 during the afternoon peak period from 3-6 pm weekdays, improving service frequency to every 10 minutes. This demonstration project ends in February 2010, but it may be extended depending on business community support.

Minor schedule adjustments have been made to the Route 74 local schedule. Route 74 Express information has been added to the "University District, Downtown Seattle" timetable to provide customers with complete information about routes serving the U-District.

114, 240

Routes 114 and 240 will be rerouted in the Renton Highlands until about September 2008 due to the closure of Duvall Avenue. During this time, northbound route 114 and 240 trips will operate regular route to NE Sunset Blvd and Duvall Ave NE, then travel via NE Sunset Blvd, SE Renton-Issaquah Rd (SR-900), 148th Ave SE and SE May Valley Rd to Coal Creek Parkway and regular route. Southbound Route 114 and 240 trips operate their regular route on Coal Creek Parkway SE to SE May Valley Rd, then via SE May Valley Rd, 148th Ave SE, SE Renton-Issaquah Rd (SR-900) and NE Sunset Blvd to Union Ave SE and regular route. Service on Route 240 between Renton TC and S Renton P&R has been temporarily discontinued and alternative service is provided by routes 140 and 169. At the Renton TC, northbound Route 240 trips will continue to serve Bay 4. Schedule adjustments have also been made on many trips due to this service revision.

140 Westbound Route 140 to Burien operates via S182nd St and International Blvd instead of via the airport freeway and northbound off-ramp to S 170th St. Route 140 to Burien now serves Bay 1 at Sea-Tac Airport and the bus stops northbound on International Blvd at S 180th St and S 176th St. Eastbound Route 140 to Southcenter and Renton operates via the airport freeway and the northbound off-ramp to S 170th St instead of via S 182nd St and International Blvd. It now serves Bay 2 at Sea-Tac Airport and no longer serves bus stops northbound on International Blvd at S 180th St and S 176th St.

Route 143 has minor trip adjustments in the afternoon, and one trip has been extended to Maple Valley and Enumclaw.

Southbound Route 174 to Federal Way now enters Sea-Tac Airport at S 170th St instead of at S 182nd St. It also no longer serves bus stops southbound on International Blvd at S 170th St, S 176th St and S 180th St. Northbound Route 174 remains unchanged.

Route 180 no longer serves the Auburn P&R and the bus stop eastbound on 10th St just east of A St NE. A new bus stop has been added southbound on D St NE just south of 15th St NE, one block east of Auburn P&R..

Three northbound Route 202 trips leaving Mercer Village Shopping Center at 7 am, 7:30 am and 8:03 am, and three southbound trips leaving 76th Ave SE & SE 24th St at 4:17 pm, 4:53 pm and 5:26 pm have been canceled.

Route 220 has been discontinued. Alternative service and peak connections to and from the South Kirkland P&R are provided by Route 249 along NE 20th St and Northup Way. New Route 221 will provide alternative service along Old Redmond Road between 148th Ave NE and West Lake Sammamish Way NE. New Route 248 provides alternative service along Bear Creek Parkway.

New Route 221 operates between Education Hill in Redmond and the Eastgate P&R via the new Redmond TC, Overlake TC and Bellevue CC. At the Redmond TC, southbound Route 221 trips to Eastgate P&R serve Bay 4. Northbound Route 221 trips to Education Hill serve Bay 5. At the Overlake TC, southbound Route 221 trips to Eastgate P&R serve Bay 3 and northbound trips to Redmond TC serve Bay 4.

Route 222 terminates at the Eastgate P&R and no longer operates on 148th Ave to Overlake. At the Bellevue TC, eastbound Route 222 trips to the Eastgate P&R now serve Bay 1. See the map of the Bellevue TC for more information.

On weekdays and Saturday, Route 222 continues as Route 233. Route 233 ends at the Bear Creek P&R and no longer operates to Avondale Pl NE and Avondale Rd NE. At Bellevue TC, eastbound Route 233 trips to the Bear Creek P&R now serve Bay 10.

One morning and one afternoon trip have been added to Route 230 weekdays providing service between the Kirkland TC, Kirkland Highlands and Lake Washington High School. These trips operate only when the high school is in session. At the Bellevue TC, Route 230 trips to Overlake/Redmond will continue to serve Bay 2, but trips to Kirkland now serve Bay 11. At the new Redmond TC, westbound Route 230 trips to the Bellevue TC and Kirkland serve Bay 4. See the map for Bellevue Transit Center and Redmond Transit Center for more information.

Route 232 now operates between Duvall and Bellevue via Avondale Rd NE and the new Redmond TC. Route 232 no longer serves English Hill. One eastbound trip during the afternoon peak period has been added, providing service from the Bellevue TC to Duvall via Overlake and the new Redmond TC. A total of five morning and five afternoon trips serve Duvall, Redmond and Bellevue. During both morning and afternoon peak periods, Route 232 provides five two-way trips between Bellevue and Redmond. At Bellevue TC, eastbound Route 232 trips to Duvall serve Bay 10.

Route 232 serves the new Redmond TC leaving Bay 6 to Bellevue and Bay 2 to Duvall. See the map of the new Redmond Transit Center for more information.

Route 234 no longer operates on 106th Ave NE. At the Bellevue TC, Route 234 to Old Bellevue leaves from Bay 1 and to Kirkland/Kenmore from Bay 10. See the map of the Bellevue Transit Center for more information.

Route 236 trips traveling via 108th Ave NE and Forbes Creek Drive continues as Route 230 serving Lake Washington High School via Kirkland Highlands. These trips will only operate when Lake Washington HS is in session. Schedule adjustments on Route 236 enable consistent 30-minute service along NE 116th St.

At the Bellevue TC, northbound Route 237 to Woodinville now leaves from Bay 4. See the map of the Bellevue Transit Center for more information.

Route 238 now serves the Houghton Village and Rose Hill areas of Kirkland via 6th St S, NE 68th St, Houghton P&R and NE 80th St. Route 238 no longer operates on NE 85th St west of 132nd Ave NE or on NE 7th St north of Central Way. All trips on Route 238 will serve Lake Washington High School.

Route 243 to Wilburton P&R now operates on 112th Ave NE/SE instead of 116th Ave NE/SE. At the Bellevue TC, Route 243 afternoon trips to Jackson Park serve Bay 8, and eastbound morning trips to Bellevue serve Bay 3. See the map of the Bellevue Transit Center for more information.

245 Route 245 now serves south Factoria via Factoria Blvd SE, Coal Creek Parkway and 124th Ave SE. A new terminal is located northbound on 124th Ave SE just north of SE 44th St next to the Newport High School football stadium.

At the Overlake TC, Route 247 now serves Bay 4.

New Route 248 provides daily service between Redmond's Avondale neighborhood and the Kirkland TC via Redmond Town Center, the new Redmond TC and NE 85th St. Route 248 replaces portions of Sound Transit Route 540 between the Redmond TC and Kirkland TC. At Redmond TC, westbound Route 248 trips to Kirkland TC serve Bay 4, and eastbound trips to Avondale serve Bay 2. At the Kirkland TC, eastbound Route 248 trips to Avondale serve Bay 2. 249, 921

Route 249 now serves the Overlake TC and no longer serves the Redmond P&R. At Overlake TC, westbound trips to the Bellevue TC serve Bay 4. On weekdays, Route 249 operates every 30 minutes from 6-9 am and from 3 pm-7 pm. During peak hours, eastbound in the morning and westbound in the afternoon, Route 249 serves the South Kirkland P&R. At Bellevue TC, eastbound Route 249 trips to Overlake TC serve Bay 10. Route 249 continues as Route 921 on weekdays. Route 921 now serves SE Kamber Road and no longer serves SE 36th St in Eastgate. At Bellevue TC, eastbound Route 921 trips to Factoria Square Mall will serve Bay 5.

Route 251 now serves English Hill via NE 128th/124th streets and Woodinville-Redmond Rd. Route 251 no longer serves the Bear Creek P&R and Avondale Road NE south of NE 128th St. Alternative service on Avondale Road NE is provided by Route 232 and new Route 248. Route 251 also no longer operates between the new Redmond TC and the Kirkland TC. New Route 221 provides alternative all-day service along Old Redmond Road east of 148th Ave NE, and Route 245 provides alternative all-day service to the Kirkland TC via NE 70th St west of 148th Ave NE. New Route 248 also operates between the Redmond and Kirkland transit centers. At Redmond TC, Route 251 trips to the UW-Bothell/CC campus serve Bay 5. See the inset map of the new Redmond TC for more information. During weekday peak periods, Route 251 operates every 30 minutes instead of every 60 minutes.

Route 254 has been discontinued. Route 221 provides alternative service between Education Hill and the new Redmond TC and new Route 248 provides alternative service between the Redmond and Kirkland transit centers. Route 238 provides alternate service along NE 80th St in Rose Hill west of 132nd Ave NE and between Houghton P&R and Kirkland TC.

One morning and one afternoon Route 311 peak-period trip no longer operate between Duvall and the Woodinville P&R. The number of Route 311 trips between Woodinville P&R and downtown Seattle remains unchanged.

342 At the Renton Transit Center, northbound Route 342 trips to Shoreline now leave from Bay 7. At the Bellevue TC, northbound Route 342 trips now serve Bay 4, and southbound trips continue to serve Bay 8. See map of the Bellevue Transit Center for more information.

One morning and one afternoon trip on Route 952 now connect with ST Route 511 at Ash Way P&R. In the morning, Route 952 connects with a ST Route 511 trip that arrives at Ash Way P&R at 6:46 am. In the afternoon, Route 952 connects with a ST 511 trip that departs Ash Way P&R at 5:12 pm. This is a pilot project with Sound Transit that restores service between the I-5 corridor and Boeing Everett.
