Mount Baker

Purpose
- Connect the Mount Baker neighborhood to Link light rail stations.
Proposed changes
Route 14
- Extend route to the Mount Baker Station and delete the portion of the route east of 31st Avenue S and S McClellan.
Route 38
- Provide service between Beacon Hill and Mount Baker (Hunter Boulevard S/S Hanford Street), partially replacing Route 14 service.
- Discontinue service between SODO and Beacon Hill.
Advantages
Route 14
- Would connect riders on S Jackson Street and 31st Avenue S to Mount Baker Station.
Routes 14 and 38
- Would connect the Mount Baker neighborhood to the Mount Baker and Beacon Hill Link stations.
Disadvantages
Route 14
- Current Route 14 riders east of 31st Avenue S would have to transfer to replacement Route 38 to reach downtown Seattle. However, the estimated travel time between Mount Baker and downtown Seattle by way of a transfer at Mount Baker Station would be up to six minutes faster than existing service.
