2004 changes in the Ambaum-Delridge corridor

New Route 120 in the Ambaum-Delridge corridor

New Route 120 will replace portions of existing routes 20, 135, 136, and 136-Express in the Ambaum-Delridge corridor with a single, frequent, all-day connection. Service will operate between the Burien Transit Center/Park-and-Ride, White Center, Delridge, and downtown Seattle by way of the Alaskan Way Viaduct, and will be 5 to 8 minutes faster than the current Route 135. The faster time is achieved through routing changes and bus stop consolidation. On weekdays, Route 120 will run more frequently—at least every 15 minutes until about 7 p.m. The last trip on Route 120 will leave downtown Seattle every morning at 2:15 a.m. Route 120 will be operated with Metro's newest low-floor, air-conditioned articulated buses.

Hours of operation
Weekdays approximately 5 a.m. - 2:15 a.m., weekends approximately 6 a.m. - 2:15 a.m.

Frequency of service:
Weekdays: Every 7 to 15 minutes during peak hours; every 15 minutes between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.; every 30 minutes between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.; every 60 minutes between 10 p.m. and midnight; and early morning trips at about 1:15 a.m. and 2:15 a.m.
Weekends: Every 30 minutes until 10 p.m.; every 60 minutes between 10 p.m. and midnight; and early morning trips at about 1:15 a.m. and 2:15 a.m.

New Route 125 between Shorewood, White Center, South Seattle Community College, and downtown Seattle

New Route 125 will replace portions of existing routes 20 and 135 between Shorewood, White Center, South Seattle Community College, and downtown Seattle. Route 125 will operate via Chelan Avenue SW, SW Spokane Street, and the Alaskan Way Viaduct. During weekday peak hours, Route 125 will operate between White Center, South Seattle Community College, and downtown Seattle only, but service will operate every 15 minutes in both directions. (From approximately 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on weekdays, Route 113 will provide service between Shorewood and White Center, where frequent connections can be made with routes 120 and 125.) On Sundays, service between Shorewood and downtown Seattle will increase during the day to every 30 minutes instead of the current 60 minutes. Route 125 trips will continue in downtown Seattle as Route 11 to Madison Park, providing a direct connection between South Seattle Community College and Seattle Central Community College.

Hours of operation
Weekdays approximately 5 a.m. to 11:45 p.m., weekends approximately 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Frequency of service
Weekdays between White Center, South Seattle Community College, and downtown Seattle: Every 30 minutes from start of service until about 6:15 a.m.; every 15 minutes in both directions between about 6:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.; and every 15 minutes in both directions between about 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Weekdays between Shorewood, White Center, South Seattle Community College, and downtown Seattle: Every 30 minutes between about 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.; every 30 minutes between about 7 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.; and every 60 minutes after 10:45 p.m.
Saturday between Shorewood, White Center, South Seattle Community College, and downtown Seattle: Every 30 minutes between about 6 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., and every 60 minutes after 9:30 p.m.
Sunday between Shorewood, White Center, South Seattle Community College, and downtown Seattle: Every 60 minutes between about 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.; every 30 minutes between about 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and every 60 minutes after 7:30 p.m.

New Route 23 between White Center, Highland Park, and downtown Seattle

New Route 23 will replace existing routes 136 and 137 between White Center, Highland Park, and downtown Seattle. Route 23 trips will start and end at 15th Avenue SW and SW 106th Street, near the Albertson's grocery store. In the SODO area, Route 23 will operate on Fourth Avenue South.

Hours of operation
Weekdays approximately 5:15 a.m. - 1 a.m.; Weekends approximately 5:45 a.m. - 1 a.m.

Frequency of service
Every 30 minutes between start of service and about 10 p.m., and every 60 minutes between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Route 113 will operate in the peak direction only

Route 113 will be revised to operate northbound to Seattle during weekday morning peak hours, and southbound to Shorewood during weekday afternoon peak hours. New routes 121 and 122 will provide replacement service along East Marginal Way South on weekdays.

Hours of operation
Five morning and five afternoon trips will be operated.

Frequency of service
About every 30 minutes during weekday peak hours.

New routes 121 and 122 will provide SR-509 express services between Des Moines, Normandy Park, Burien Transit Center/ Park-and-Ride and downtown Seattle

The existing Route 130-Express will be renumbered as new Route 121, and existing Route 132-Express will be renumbered as new Route 122. The number of peak trips between Des Moines, Burien, and downtown Seattle will remain the same, but some trip times will be revised for better spacing between trips. Peak-hour service will operate between about 5 a.m. and 9 a.m., and between about 3 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Between Burien Transit Center/Park-and-Ride and downtown Seattle during peak hours, express service will operate in both directions. Between Burien and Seattle, Metro will operate a total of 13 midday trips from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the midday hours, the last morning northbound trip to downtown Seattle will leave the Burien Transit Center/Park-and-Ride at about 10:30 a.m., and the first afternoon southbound trip will leave downtown Seattle about 12:20 p.m.

New Route 123 and earlier service on Route 139 in the Gregory Heights neighborhood of Burien

Existing peak service in Gregory Heights on routes 136, 136-Express, 137, and 137-Express will be replaced by new Route 123 and earlier service on Route 139. Route 123 will operate in a counter-clockwise loop with five northbound morning trips and five afternoon southbound trips at times similar to the existing Route 137-Express. Routing will be revised to operate on Fourth Avenue South through the SODO area in both directions, and a new stop will be added at Fourth and Lander. Hours of operation on Route 139 will be expanded to start at around 4:45 a.m. on weekdays, and trip times will be coordinated with new routes 120, 121, and 122 at the Burien Transit Center/Park-and-Ride.

New Route 131 between Des Moines, the Burien Transit Center/Park-and-Ride, Park Lake, South Park, Georgetown, and downtown Seattle

Service on portions of existing routes 130 and 137 will be consolidated into new Route 131, providing local service between Des Moines, Burien, and downtown Seattle. Route 131 will operate via First Avenue South, SW 112th Street, Fourth Avenue SW, and the Olson-Myers Park-and-Ride. (For service along Fourth Avenue SW between SW 112th and SW 148th streets, see new Route 134.) Service levels will be similar to those on the existing Route 130.

Hours of operation
Weekdays from about 5:40 a.m. to 12:20 a.m., weekends from about 6:30 a.m. to 12:20 a.m.

Frequency of service
Every 60 minutes weekdays and weekends.

New Route 134 between the Burien Transit Center/Park-and-Ride, Park Lake, South Park, Georgetown, and downtown Seattle

New Route 134 will operate weekdays only and will replace portions of existing Route 137 between Burien and Park Lake along Fourth Avenue SW. Route 134 will share a common routing with new Route 131 between downtown Seattle and Fourth Avenue SW & SW 112th Street. Trips on Route 134 will be scheduled to alternate arrival and departure times in downtown Seattle with trips on Route 131.

Hours of operation
Weekdays only between approximately 6:15 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.

Frequency of service
About every 60 minutes with six northbound trips from Burien to downtown Seattle between between 6:15 and 10:25 a.m, and about every 60 minutes with six southbound trips from downtown Seattle to Burien between about 12:30 and 5:45 p.m.
