Google Trip Planner
King County Metro Transit has partnered with Google in its implementation of an online transit trip planner that highlights Google's map features. The Google Trip Planner uses Metro-generated data to find transit trips that are operated by Metro in King County.
Along with an itinerary based on their entries for point of origin and destination, people who use Google's trip planner have access to a street map, a satellite image or a hybrid of the two in order to see a graphical representation of locations along their route. Google's Transit Trip Planner also provides transit information for Portland, OR; Eugene, OR; Tampa, FL; Pittsburgh, PA and Honolulu, HI.
The Google Transit Trip Planner is a Google Labs product and can be located at labs.google.com or at google.com/transit/

Metro Transit continues to operate its regional online trip planner that provided 7.5 million itineraries to central Puget Sound transit riders in 2005. Maintained in partnership with 5 other transit agencies, Metro's online Trip Planner provides seamless regional trip planning from Everett and North Snohomish County to Pierce County, including Pierce Transit's Olympia Express, Sound Transit's Sounder and Tacoma Link light rail services, the Washington State Ferry system and all transit connections in between.
Metro's trip planner generates up to three itineraries per query, offers six different ways to view the regional data, and provides detailed text descriptions of bus stop locations and walking directions. It also provides the ability to quickly revise queries to modify trips, as well as extensive online help. It can be easily used in conjunction with the many additional resources and information links that are available on Metro's web site, Metro Online.
Links to Metro's Trip Planner are also provided on the web sites of Everett Transit and Sound Transit. Pierce Transit and Community Transit provide trip planning services of their own, based on the same set of regional transit data as Metro's.
