Accessible Bus Service

Discounted fares for seniors and persons with disabilities who have a Regional Reduced Fare Permit.

Description [external link] is a gateway to transportation options in the Puget Sound area for persons with disabilities, senior citizens and others with special transportation needs. It provides links to transportation tools such as the transit trip planner, and includes a searchable database to allow people with special transportation needs, case managers, and agencies to find transportation in the Central Puget Sound Region. The database provides information on transit agencies; other transportation providers; agencies which help riders pick providers or arrange for rides; agencies which pay for rides; rideshare and vanpool information; home delivery; and programs which lend, rent or purchase vehicles for people with special needs.

Regular Metro Bus Service includes all fixed routes, the bus tunnel and Dial-A-Ride Transit (DART). Information is available from bus schedules, Customer Information phone line, or the online Trip Planner. Metro provides free transit instruction to individuals and groups that meet certain criteria. This training teaches persons with disabilities and seniors how to ride regular public transportation, including using the lift or ramp. For more information, contact the Transit Instruction Program contractor at 206-749-4242. TTY users only should call the statewide relay at 711.

Access vans, park and ride lots; Metro, Pierce, Community and Sound Transit buses; Sounder commuter rail; Ferries; Airport and Amtrak train.
