First Hill Streetcar Line begins in 2015

In 2015, the First Hill Streetcar Line is scheduled to begin operation between Pioneer Square and Capitol Hill via S Jackson St, 14th Ave E, E Yesler Way and Broadway. In addition to serving the Pioneer Square, Chinatown International, District, First Hill and Capitol Hill neighborhoods, it will also serve major sporting event venues (CenturyLink and Safeco fields), medical centers (Harborview, Swedish and Virginia Mason) and institutions of higher learning (Seattle Central College and Seattle University).

The First Hill Streetcar will operate:

  • Weekdays 5:00am – 1:00am
  • Saturday 6:00am – 1:00am
  • Sunday 7:00am – 8:00pm

On weekdays, it will provide a 10 minute service frequency during the peak periods, 12 minutes during the midday and on Saturday, and 15 minutes evenings and Sunday.

Fares can be paid with your ORCA card at readers on the station platforms. Individual rider tickets can be purchased at the stations with debit/credit cards, and on board with cash. Metro transfers are accepted as proof of payment.
