About This Route

Kent Shopper Shuttle Routes 914 and 916 are free. The usual bus fare will apply when using any other Metro service.

Kent Accessible Demand Area Response Transit (DART) offers two transportation services: fixed and (limited) variable routing. Route 914 and Route 916 provide DART service in portions of the Kent area (see map).

Scheduled Service/Fixed Routing

DART vans provide service at Metro bus stops along Route 914 and Route 916. Every trip passes through the Kent Transit Center and the Regional Justice Center. On weekdays, additional scheduled fixed route service is provided between the Regional Justice Center and downtown Kent from 11:54 a.m. to 1:24 p.m.

Reservations/Variable Routing

You can request customized rides on DART by calling the DART reservation office. You need to make your trip request at least two hours before you want to be picked up, and you can make your reservations for 30 days at a time, up to 30 days in advance. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. DART service is provided during the following hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Sundays and Holidays: no service

Reservations can be made by calling toll-free 1-866-261-DART(3278) (voice), or 1-800-246-1646 (TTY) during the following hours; leave a message all other times:

  • Monday through Friday: 5:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
  • Sundays: 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

You can also make your reservation online directly through Hopelink's web site [external link]. Hopelink operates DART under a contract with King County Metro Transit.

A limited number of off-route deviations, only, can be made on any given trip. Vans can deviate from their fixed routes to serve other locations within the service area, but they cannot necessarily provide door-to-door service due to safety and other operational considerations (narrow streets, cul-de-sacs, etc.). You may be requested to board/deboard at a location a block or more from your home or destination.

Estimated pick-up and drop-off times will be provided at the time you call. Please be waiting at the curbside at the given pick-up time.

General Information

DART van

Metro's Demand Area Response Transit (DART) offers variable routing in some areas within King County. By using vans that can go off regular routes to pick up and drop off passengers within a defined service area, DART service may allow you to arrange for transit service closer to a location. DART does not go door-to-door. It operates on a fixed schedule, but one that has more flexibility than regular Metro Transit buses.
